A studio, not a service

Fernung Studio is the working practice of Eric Fernung, a fine-art muralist based in Indianapolis. Eric paints site-specific interiors and exteriors

The work begins with photographs of the room, an honest conversation about how the space is used, and a composition built only for that wall. Eric came to mural painting from photography, and brings an editorial eye to every project.

How a Project Comes to Life

Most projects take six to twelve weeks from first photo to final walk-through. The five steps below cover the path.

1. Photos & Site You send 3–5 photos of the wall, rough dimensions, your city, and your timeline. I read the room before I respond.

2. Consult & Direction A short conversation via phone, video, or in person to align on scope, palette, story, and budget. Inspiration images welcome but never required.

3. Quote & Schedule A written quote with fixed price, deposit terms, materials, and a target install window. A signed agreement and 50% deposit hold the calendar slot.

4. Design & Sketch Composition drawings, palette studies, and (for larger commissions)a digital mockup laid over your wall photo. Two rounds of revisions are standard.

5. Paint & Walk-Through On-site painting with clean masking, drop cloths, and tidy daily wrap-ups. Final balance due at the walk-through.

What clients say after the wall is done.

A few notes from recent projects.

“Eric's process from beginning to end is unmatched.”

— Kim Ledger

“An absolute joy to work with”

— Rhonda Peeler

“It’s his ability to bring my ideas to life that’s a unique calling”

— Sylvia Gordon

Eric takes a small, considered number of projects each year. The most useful first step is a short note with a few photos.
